Keep your eyes peeled here for more news, Innervate it still deep in post production and is looking AMAZING, I should be able to start releasing some sneak peeks at that soon 😀
Zangrethor Digital is producing a 3 minute short film for the “My Rode Reel” short film contest, titled Innervate and we are currently casting for the lead female role.
Innverate is a dystopian cyberpunk short film set in a world abandoned by humanity, that follows a female biomechanical android and her younger sister as they look for hope in the bleak lifeless landscape.
The role we are casting for is:
Mel, female, mid to late 20’s. A small town woman stuck in the small town, but dreams of something bigger. Trying to get through life and keep her and her sister afloat in the world.
Due to the fact that Mel and her sister are bio-mechanical constructs, we are hoping to develop a movement style with a heavy focus on body language and facial expression to convey the emotion and dialogue of the short. Therefore some experience with expression and body training would be preferred (Mime, dance, etc), but all applicants will be considered.
Shoot will be two days on either the second or third weekends in May 2017 in and around the Red Deer or Calgary area (Locations are currently pending), depending on scheduling and availability of cast and crew. Non-Paid and Non-Union but you will be fed and if you’re from out of town we can put you up for the night if need be.
The first round of auditions will be held by video conference (Skype or google hangouts) and will be scheduled at our mutual convenience.
If you’re interested please email your resume and headshot to ZangrethorDigital@gmail.com.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I feel it’s probably about (read: way past) time for an update on Zangrethor happening’s and shakenings!
To start off, personal news! The past 6 months have been CRAZY and full of awesome things! In August, I worked on Ignition Film’s second feature film “Break On Through” as 1st AC, and had an absolutely insane and amazing few weeks on set helping make a fantastic film. You can keep up to date on Break On Through updates here: https://www.facebook.com/breakonthroughmovie/
(We worked hard, I swear. Photo by Stephanie Grue.)
While wrapping up production on Break On Through I began the Motion Picture Arts program at Red Deer College, and learnt some stuff and met some awesome people, although the universe had other plans for me it seems, since at the end of November, I officially accepted a full time position on the Video Production Team at Olds College! So as of the beginning of January I have moved to Olds and am now working full time with the team there. We produce educational and training videos, as well as videos showcasing Olds College. You can see some of these on the Olds College Youtube page:
That said, I am still available for commissioned work and collaborations as always (Although time is a bit more limited these days), absolutely feel free to shoot me an email if you have a project in mind and would like to discuss it! ZangrethorDigital@gmail.com.
Next up, festival news! We are incredibly honoured to be chosen and I would like to thank everyone that made that project possible, I am incredibly proud of it.
Moving on to! Project updates!
As you may or may not remember a few years ago I shot a couple of short films over the summer, they have subsequently been sitting in what we unfortunately must refer to as post-production purgatory. However, GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
Work is still underway and the IMMENSE amount of visual effects work required is firmly progressing! I can’t say when the short will be available for viewing however I am absolutely dedicated to getting it done!
Enjoy this sneak peek at some of the work being done…
And while I AM focused on getting old projects done, the wheels never stop spinning as they say, and I am in early pre-production for a new project that will be uploaded to the Zangrethor Digital youtube channel later this year, and a new Zangrethor Digital short film that will go into production (If everything goes according to plan) later this summer. And of course ZD and Cave Puppet Films have a few tricks up our sleeve, so be sure to stay tuned to our facebook pages and websites for updates on those as they happen!
On the Bullskit front, episode of the Best of Bullskit Comedy, produced by ZD are still going out on Bullskit’s youtube page! Head on over and check them out if you haven’t, show em some love, bunch a’ funny bastards over there.
I want to thank every single one of you for watching, supporting and enjoying the things I make. 2016 was a rough year for everyone and I was no exception, but we managed to make some cool stuff. 2017 is already shaping up to be an incredible year and we’re going to make some truly spectacular things this year! Thank you for following along and supporting, it truly does mean everything to me.
Until next time, keep your eyes to the gates….
I had the great pleasure of producing a 2 minute introduction video for Red Deer country artist Jamie Woodfin, for the Project WILD country artist development competition.

ZD is proud to present Elder, a 60 second silent film created for the Gotta Minute Film Festival in Edmonton, AB. Unfortunately it was not accepted for the festival but it’s now online for your viewing pleasure!

IT’S PORTFOLIO UPDATE TIME!!
The site has been updated with a brand new batch of short films from the past…year…or so.
Okay, so keeping this site up to date date is not exactly one of my strong suits. I realize this.
BUT! We’ve got a whole swath of new videos from Bullskit Comedy (as produced by Zangrethor Digital)!
